JULIE WINS ABERDEENSHIRE TITLE
JULIE
Henderson from Inverurie won the Aberdeenshire women's county golf championship
for the first time at Kemnay GC yesterday (Sunday). She beat Lorraine
Coleman (Peterhead) by 3 and 2 in the final after going three up at the
eighth.
It was Julie's second successive appearance in the final. Last year she
was two on the 17th tee against Sheena Wood (Aberdeen Ladies) but lost.
This time Miss Henderson made no mistake although Lorraine holed two good
putts at the 14th, for a half, and the 15th for a winning birdie to bring
back memories of the 2002 final.
In the morning semi-finals, Miss Coleman scored one of the best wins of
her career, when she beat the top seed and four times champion Sheena
Wood by 5 and 4. In the other tie, Julie Henderson beat Laura McLardy
(Murcar) by 3 and 1.
