LYNN, ALISON MAKE GOOD STARTS IN STIRLING & CLACKMANNAN

CURRENT Scotland international player Lynn Kenny (Dunblane) and past Curtis Cup star Alison Davidson (Stirling) made impressive starts to their match-play campaigns in the Stirling & Clackmannan women's county golf championship at Glenbervie yesterday (Sunday).
Lynn, the leading qualifier, won by 6 and 5 over Helen Hunter (Linlithgow) while Alison, in the opposite half of the draw, was a 7 and 6 winner over Christine Sikora (Braehead).
There was also a big win, by 6 and 5 for young Laura Aitken (Falkirk Tryst) over Elizabeth Goodwin (Glenbervie).
Results:
First round: L Kenny (Dunblane) beat H Hunter (Linlithgow) 6 and 5, F McArthur (Falkirk Tryst) beat F Liddle (Dunblane) 3 and 2, C Kenny (Dunblane) beat A Lee (Stirling) 2 and 1, L Aitken (Falkirk Tryst) beat E Goodwin (Glenbervie) 6 and 5, V Stevenson (Stirling) beat L Fleming (Glenbervie) 2 holes, M Tough (Falkirk) beat S Mitchell (Falkirk Tryst) 3 and 1, A Davidson (Stirling) beat C Sikora (Braehead) 7 and 6, L Robertson (Falkirk Tryst) beat J Taylor (Alloa) 3 and 2.
