LYNN KENNY IS TOP STIRLING & CLACKMANNAN QUALIFIER
FORMER
Scottish champion Lynn Kenny from Dunblane was the leading qualifier at
Glenbervie on Friday when the Stirling & Clackmannan women's county
golf championship started on a day of bad weather which resulted in a
CSS of 75 (LGU SSS 72).
Stirling University student Lynn's 77 earned her the top seed berth by
a shot from Janice Taylor (Alloa) whose 78 was matched by Vicki Stevenson
(Stirling) and Laura Aitken (Falkirk Tryst).
Vicki and Laura were placed Nos 3 and 4 in the automatic draw after a
comparison of the cards.
Heather Stirling (Bridge of Allan), of course, is not defending the title.
She is currently playing in a US Futures Tour event at El Paso, Texas.
Alison Davidson, whom Heather beat in last year's final, qualified in
No 7 place with a round of 80, being placed behind Lynn Kenny's mother,
Cecilia and Stella Mitchell (Falkirk Tryst) who also had 80s after a card
countback.
