DIANE v FIONA FOR DUMRIES-SHIRE TITLE


Diane MacDonald (Dumfries & Co) and Fiona Macgregor from Andrew Coltart's old golf club, Thornhill, will meet in the 36-hole final of the Dumfries-shire women's county championship at Powfoot Golf Club on Saturday.
Diane has won the title four times but Fiona will be bidding for her first.
Young Kirsty Wells (Dumfries & Co), the holder of the title, was unable to play in the championship this year.

Monday's results:

Quarter-finals
Pam Kirk (Powfoot) beat Chris Hastings (Moffat) 1 hole.
Fiona Macgregor (Thornhill) beat Margaret McGregor (Dumfries & Co) 2 holes.
Louise Armstrong (Dumfries & Co) beat Eileen Mauchline (Lochmaben) 2 holes.
Diane Macdonald (Dumfries & Co) beat Margaret Wilson (Dumfries & Galloway) 2 and 1.

Semi-finals
Fiona Macgregor beat Pam Kirk 1 hole.
Diane Macdonald beat Louise Armstrong 2 holes.
