Ms. Kirkwood,

Claire Hunter started the day 3 strokes ahead of the field.

As the final round was played on the Champions Course, players found it to be longer than expected, and the greens were grueling with their fierce angulations and tight pin placements.

Not to be hindered by the tough conditions, Claire played a solid game posting only 1 birdie for a round of 78. The second place finisher, Christina Monteiro, caught Hunter after #10. Hunter birdied #11, but Monteiro birdied #12 to go back to even with Hunter. Monteiro went on to double bogey the next 2 holes and Hunter never looked back.

Claire stated at the scoring table that she was nervous at the start of the day but settled in after the first hole. Although Monteiro had picked up 2 strokes on her at the turn, Claire was determined to capture her first win.

During Claire's victory presentation, she thanked all of her supporters who follow her progress on www.kirkwoodgolf.co.uk <http://www.kirkwoodgolf.co.uk>

Claire is off to Eugene Oregon to take a break from golf, but she will return for the West Coast Ladies Golf Tour Event at Cimarron July 29-31.

Regards, Cheers, and Play Well.
