A FEW DOLLARS MORE FOR VIKKI

Vikki Laing from Musselburgh finished joint 25th and earned $661 dollars with an eight over par total of 224 in the US Futures Tour's Cigna Classic at Gillette Ridge Golf Club, Bloomfield in Connecticutt.
Vikki had rounds of 73, 75 and 76. Winds of 30mpm and a 1hr storm warning delay at 4.30pm disrupted the final round.
Rookie Taylor Leon from Dallas, Texas, in only her second professional tournament won the $11,200 top prize by beating Mollie Fankhauser from Columbus, Ohio at the first hole of a sudden-death play-off after they had tied on 215.
Fankhauser had led by three strokes in the final round until bogeying the 16th and double-bogeying the 17th.
The average temperature on the final day was 88 degrees.
