Tara defeated Munster’s Gillian O’Leary by 1 hole and Maura beat Catherine Tucker by 2 holes on the final day of play in East Clare. Other singles wins for Leinster were courtesy of Jenny Gannon winning 7 and 6 and Karen Delaney. Dawn Marie Conaty halved her match with impressive 15 year old Laura McCarthy from Muskerry while Karen O’Neill (Douglas) gained the only singles match for her Munster team.

Niamh Kitching achieved the only clean sweep in the tournament with 6 out of 6 wins, leading Connacht to second position overall. The Connacht team, improving by the day, beat Ulster most impressively. They won all three foursomes matches and went on to win singles through Niamh, Sarah Faller, Anne McCormack and Ann Geoghegan. Gemma Hegarty and Lucy Simpson gave Ulster their 2 singles win against Sinead O’Sullivan and Darragh McGowan respectively.

Foursomes
Leinster edge ahead on final day winning all three foursomes matches against Munster while Connacht proved strong against Ulster taking the advantage following the morning encounters.

Leinster got their foursomes matchplay back on track with pairings of Karen and Tara Delaney, Maura Morrin/Dawn Marie Conaty and Sinead O’Sullivan/Anne McCormack all recording good victories against Munster.

Connacht were in devastating foursomes form. Niamh Kitching and Sarah Faller beat Danielle McVeigh and Gemma Hegary. New pairing of Darragh McGowan and Ann Geoghegan combined brilliantly to overcome Ulster’s Charlene Reid/Lucy Simpson and Sinead O’Sullivan and Anne McCormack beat Bronagh Lunney and Louise Coffey.
