WELSH CHAMPION KIRSTY
O'CONNOR FINISHES 20th
IN OHIO INVITATIONAL

Welsh women's amateur champion Kirsty O'Connor from Burnley, a student at Ball State University, Indiana, finished 20th in a field of 72 for the First Annual Zippy Invitational women's college tournament at Rosemont Country Club, Fairlawn, Ohio.
Over a par-72, 6060yd course, Kirsty, pictured right after her Welsh title success, had scores of 78, 80 and 84 for a 26-over-par total of 242, 22 shots behind the winner Darby Peters (Eastern Michigan) who won by 10 shots with 71-73-76 for 220.

CLAIRE STARKIE DOWN THE FIELD
IN CONNECTICUTT INVITATIONAL

Claire Starkie (Georgia State) from Yorkshire had scores of 74, 78 and 72 for an eight-over-par total of 224 in the Heather Farr Memorial Invitational at Omni Interlocken, Broomfield in Connecticutt.
Claire came joint 36th in a field of 106 behind the winner, Kay Hoey (Long Beach), with rounds of 65, 71 and 71 for nine-under-par 207 over a par-72, 6221yd course.
