Vikki Laing, Pamela Feggans
top Scots at cold and windy
La Manga pre-Q opener

Thanks to the good offices of Perth & Kinross county captain Dawn Butchart and county champion Laura Walker, we have been able to piece together an accurate - we hope - picture of the first round scores in the Ladies European Tour Pre-qualifying 72-hole event over the North and South Courses at La Manga, Spain today.
Because there is some confusion about the par for both courses (we believe it is 73 for the South and 71 for the North, although the LET website has it the other way round), we have lumped all the scores together.
We do know for a fact that it was a very cold and very windy day at the south-east Spain venue.
We also know that Curtis Cup player and Scottish champion Michele Thomson missed only two greens in regulation but finished up six over par at the tougher South course. But she did finish with a birdie 4 at the long closing hole so hopefully that will put her in a good frame of mind for the rest of the week.
The top Scots, both with 75s, were Vikki Laing, pictured above, and Pamela Feggans who have played exclusively in the United States for the past few years.
There are 104 players competing - there is no cut and the fourth and final round is on Saturday - with the leading 62 players going forward to next week's Final Q School where they will join 28 exempt players, including Scots Lynn Kenny and Jenna Wilson.
