DALGETY BAY STUDENT FINISHES JOINT
THIRD IN WESTERN NEW MEXICO

Scott Crichton from Dalgety Bay, Fife, a third-year student at Western New Mexico University, finished joint third and team-mate Steven Maxwell from Glasgow 31st in a field of 53 for the WNMU Cactus Thaw college golf tournament at Silver City Golf Club, New Mexico at the weekend.
Crichton had rounds of 71 and 72 for a one-over-par total of 143 over the 6417yd, par-71 course. Maxwell scored 75 and 84 for 159.
Ryan Word (New Mexico State) won by two shots with a pair of 70s for 140.
But Crichton's effort helped Western New Mexico, the host university, to win the team event by 15 strokes from South Mountain College.
