Jodi (only two bogeys in two rounds)

drops down to jt 4th in "Longhorn"

Curtis Cup player Jodi Ewart from Catterick, Yorkshire has shot only two bogeys and four birdies over the first 36 holes of this week's big US women's college golf circuit event - the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational - but she is joint fourth in a field of 93, underlining the quality of this field in particular and the high standard of play in general in America.
Jodi, who was in a six-way tie for the lead after the first 18 holes at the University of Texas Golf Club at Austin, deviated from par only twice in her second round of 72 for 142.
She bogeyed the short second and birdied the long 11th.
Spain's Maria Hernandez, from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, has taken up a one-shot lead with scores of 70 and 69 for 139. Her nearest rival is Lucy Nunn (Arkansas) with a pair of 70s for 140.
French Canadian Maude-Aimee LeBlanc (Purdue) is in third place on 141 with scores of 70 and 71.
Spanish ace and former British girls champion Azahara Munoz (Arizona State) is sharing fourth place with Jodi Ewart on 142 (72-70).
There's still everything to play for in the team title race with Arizona State and Purdue locked together in the lead on 578 - four strokes ahead of third-placed Arkansas with New Mexico (590) in fourth place and top-rated Duke (601) fifth of 16 teams.
