Liz Keohone topples Ayrshire

top seed Rachael McQueen

Top seed Rachael McQueen (Troon Ladies) was toppled in the quarter-finals of the Ayrshire women's county golf championship at Glasgow Gailes today.
She went down by 4 and 3 to the No 8 qualifier Liz Keohone (Loudoun) who will play 18-year-old nine-handicapper Hannah Gaunt (Troon) in the first semi-final.
Hannah, the No 4 seed, had a very good 19th hole win over fifth qualifier Ros Purdom (Prestwick St Nicholas) in the quarter-finals.
The other semi-final is Alex Glennie (Kilmarnock Barassie), the 2004 county champion, and Lesley Hendry (Routenburn), title-winner in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Alex is the No 3 seed and Lesley the No 2 seed.
