England name team for Euro girls' championship
NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY ENGLISH WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION
England will be represented by Heidi Baek, Hayley Davis, Alex Peters and Kelly Tidy in the European girls’ team championship at Kokkola, Finland, from July 7-11.
Alex Peters, 15, (Notts Ladies) and Kelly Tidy (Royal Birkdale), 17, were both in the team which won the silver medal at last year’s championship at Murcar Links.
Heidi Baek (Felixstowe Ferry), 15, played for England in the 2008 girls’ home internationals at Panmure, Carnoustie while Hayley Davis (Ferndown), 16, was a team reserve and this season became the Scottish Under-16 open stroke-play champion.
The non-travelling reserve is Hannah Turland (Tidworth Garrison), 15, and the team will be captained by Faye Sanderson (Heworth, Durham).
