Alexis (14) beats Jodi Ewart in second round of
United States women's amateur championship
Great Britain & Ireland international Jodi Ewart from Catterick was beaten in the second round of the United States women's amateur championship at Old Warson Country Club, St Louis in the state of Missouri.
Jodi was beaten 2 and 1 by 14-year-old Alex Thompson from Coral Springs, Florida, last year's US girls champion.
Alexis also won her third-round tie and is through to the quarter-finals of the championship, n which the line-up is:
Jennifer Johnson (La Quinta, Californai) v Candace Schepperle (Birmingham, Alabama).
Alexis Thompson (Coral Springs, Florida) v Han Jungeun (South Korea).
Jessica Korda (Bradenton, Florida) v Tiffany Lua (Rowlands Heights, California).
Stephanie Kono (Honolulu, Hawaii) v Jennifer Song (Ann Arbor, Michigan).
