Civic reception marks centenary of Lanarkshire

Ladies County Golf Association

By JEAN MACINTYRE
The Civic Reception given by South Lanarkshire Council to mark the Centenary of Lanarkshire Ladies County Golf Association was much enjoyed by those members who attended.
We were made most welcome by Provost Russell Clearie and the councilors and council staff. Following an excellent meal with good wine Provost Clearie gave a short speech then presented LLCGA Officials with small gifts and our Association with a very nice suitably engraved crystal rose bowl.
Captain May Hughes gave an outline of the events of our Centenary year and thanked South Lanarkshire Council for their hospitality and generosity. Honorary President Margo Bauer then presented Provost McClearie with a small gift from LLCGA.
Thanks must go to Margaret Armstrong, Administration Officer of SLC for organising the evening.
