The UC Davis players sneak up behind coach Anne Walker and give her a "Gatorade shower."

Anne Walker could be looking to recruit a European or two ....

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Anne Walker, head coach of the University of California-Davis women's golf team, has been telling Kirkwoodgolf.co.uk about the make-up of her squad which scored a marvellous team win at Turtle Bay Resort, Hawaii last week:
"The three freshmen on the squad are all my recruits, which is a third of the squad. Two of our freshmen finished low on the team last week: Demi Runas and Amy Simanton.
"Demi set the pace the first two days with 68-69 and then Amy finished the third day with 68."
There are no European players on the UC Davis squad but that could change next year, says Anne.
"I am definitely open to European players for 2010, I do have a spot available. The great thing about Davis in California is the weather and the golf courses. Both courses are within three miles of campus and the weather is incredible. It is a good fit for a European player.
"Our two leaders, Chelsea and Alice both played in the US Open this year. I think they are providing great leadership for the freshman."
Regards from California,
to all back home
Anne Walker
