Catriona Matthew signs

for I M G

NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY I M G
Catriona Matthew, the 2009 Ricoh Women’s British Open Champion, announced today that she has signed with the global sports management company, IMG.
Catriona, from North Berwick, became the first Scottish woman to win a major and only the fourth Briton when she claimed the Ricoh Women’s British Open at Royal Lytham and St Annes in August. What made this magnificent achievement even more remarkable is that she won her first major title only 11 weeks after giving birth to her second daughter, Sophie.
With three LPGA victories and three LET victories as well as five appearances in the European Solheim Cup team, her Major victory was universally celebrated amongst players, fans and media.
Guy Kinnings, IMG’s Director of Golf, EAME, whose team represents the world's best golfers including Tiger Woods, YE Yang, Padraig Harrington, Colin Montgomerie, Annika Sorenstam and Michelle Wie, said:
“Catriona’s achievement this summer at the Ricoh Women’s British Open was fantastic, both for her personally and especially for British golf. Winning a Major has added an extra dimension to her already extremely successful career and we are thrilled that she has decided to join IMG.”
Catriona will be managed by Vicky Cuming who added, “Catriona’s remarkable story has transcended the traditional women’s media golf channels and her achievements resonate with women from all walks of life. We are really looking forward to working with her during this exciting stage of her career.”
Catriona, who is playing in the LPGA’s season-ending Tour Championship this week in Texas, explained, “I am delighted to have joined IMG. They are a global company with a great heritage in golf and I believe they are well positioned to help me to capitalise on my recent success. It will be great to be able to leave my on and off course interests in their capable hands as mine are rather full at the moment, both with getting back out on the Tour and with my two rather demanding gorgeous little girls!”
