NORTH-EAST DISTRICT YOUTHS BEAT SHIRE

WOMEN - BUT IT WAS CLOSE

The North-east District youths team beat an Aberdeenshire women's select by 3 1/2-1 1/2 in a four-ball, better-ball match at Deeside Golf Club.
All five of the games went to the 18th hole.
It was the second year of the fixture but the first at which the winning team received a trophy donated by former district president Ken Bennions and his wife Margaret, from Peterhead, for annual competition.
