BARWELL LAUNCHES GOLF INTERNATIONAL MASTERS

Low handicappers frustrated with a lack of competitive golf in winter months can now look forward to the Golf International Masters.
Golfers, with a handicap of 12 or under, who find they are suffering from the winter blues can jet out to La Manga Club to enjoy competitive golf on one of the resort’s championship courses.
Departing on November 1, five-day packages are available from £435 per person including three rounds of golf on La Manga’s championship courses, bed-and-breakfast accommodation on the resort, welcome reception on arrival, a gala dinner, a driving-range card – entitling you to 10 free baskets – and a dozen Titleist ProV1 golf balls.
The main competition will be a 36-hole strokeplay tournament and the player with the lowest gross score will be crowned the 2007 Golf International Masters champion. There will also be handicap, longest-drive and nearest-the-pin prizes courtesy of Titleist and Footjoy.
Mike Laney, Barwell’s business development manager, said: “Barwell has a good record of hosting competitive events with a very fun and social backdrop and this should be no different.
“It’s a great chance for people to get out on the course in sunnier climes and should be an extremely enjoyable event for all concerned.”
