PLAY-OFFS DRAMA IN NICK FALDO SERIES
AT THE CARRICK AT CAMERON HOUSE

John Henry, younger brother of Scott Henry, who defends the Scottish men’s open amateur stroke-play title at Royal Dornoch this weekend, survived a play-off at The Carrick at Cameron House today (Monday) to qualify for the regional final at The Roxburghe Golf Club, Kelso on August 23 in the Nick Faldo Junior Series.
Henry, a member of Clydebank & District Golf Club beat Jack Scott (Deeside) after they had tied on 157 for the last of four places in theUnder-15 boys’ section.
Jamie Neilson (Dunbar) beat Jamie Mackay (Barassie) in a play-off for the last qualifying place in the Under-21 section.
And there was a three-way play-off for two places in the Under-16s. The contestants were all from the North-east - Nick MacAndrew (Cullen), Kyle Godsman (Hopeman) and Chris Robb from Inchmarlo, Banchory. They all tied on 156. Robb was the one eliminated.
The first Scottish round of the Nick Faldo Junior Series was played a month or two ago at Blairgowrie. The top four from each age group and the girls section, based on the aggregate totals from Blairgowrie and The Carrick at Cameron House go forward to the regional final.
