LYNN KENNY (69) JOINT FOURTH
AFTER FIRST ROUND OF
FRENCH WOMEN'S OPEN

Lynn Kenny, now playing out of Archerfield Links, had her best round for some time - a three-under-par 69 - to be lying joint fourth behind leader Rebecca Hudson at the end of the first day in the French Women's Open.
Lynn, pictured right, bogeyed the long fourth but got into her stride with birdies at the fifth, sixth and ninth to turn in two-under-par 34. Her purple run continued with birdies at the 11th and 16th. Only a bogey 6 at the long 18th took a little bit of the shine off her round.
Kathryn Imrie from Monifieth is back in joint 45th place after a 73 which included a double bogey 6 at the length. She did birdie the fourth, 13th and 15th in halves of 37 and 36.
Clare Queen (Carrick at Cameron House) had a day to forget, and the sooner the better. She is sharing 108th place on 78 with only a faint hope of surviving the 36-hole cut.
Clare had not one but two triple bogey 7s. The first came at the first and the second at the 16th. She birdied the second, fifth, 12th and 17th in halves of 37 and 41.
