Continuing our viewers' involvement in Annika Sorenstam's recollection from 1988 and 1989, when she played in the St Rule Trophy at St Andrews, that there was a sign "No Dogs or Women Allowed" somewhere in the region of the R&A clubhouse.
Scroll down to see what Annika actually said at the US Women's Open Press Conference last week and the suggestion by one of our viewers yesterday that Miss Sorenstam was wrong - the notice is/was at Elie Golf Club.
Now for the latest response:

From Joanne Watt:

While grabbing a quick bite of lunch decided to browse through Gillian Kirkwood’s website. Nothing to add except that I agree with Claire – as far as I remember, that notice is (or is it now in the past?) at Elie because there was a nice little bit of garden fenced off in front of the gents' lounge window.
The notice has always been a cause of hilarity amongst us women. I have certainly never seen that sign at St Andrews and have played the Old Course several times – no problem playing on the course, it’s just getting into the R&A clubhouse that’s a forbidden area! I really think Annika’s memory is not so hot as her golf.
Great website – must look at it more often.
