ANNA SCOTT JOINT TENTH ON
COMEBACK APPEARANCE
ON US COLLEGE CIRCUIT

Anna Scott improved but Sinead O'Sullivan and Lucy Gould slipped back over the third and final round of the Napa River Cardinal Cup women's college tournament over the Cardinal Club course (6,181yd, par 72) at Simpsonville, Kentucky.
Anna, pictured right, from Consett in County Durham is a student at Georgia State University. She missed almost the whole of the 2006-2007 college golf season with a serious elbow injury.
Now she is back and raring to make up for lost time.
Miss Scott improved from joint 26th after two rounds to tied 10th in the final standings, thanks to a final round of one-under-par 71 which included birdies a tthe second, fifth and 13th and bogeys at the third and 14th.
Over the three rounds, six-footer Anna had eight birdies. Her earlier scores were 79 and 72 and she finished with a six-over-par total of 222 - nine shots behind the South Korean winner, So-Hyun Park, a freshman student at Notre Dame. She scored 70, 71 and 72 for three-under-213 to win by one shot from Taryn Durham (Middle Tennessee State).
Irish international Sinead O'Sullivan (East Tennessee State) sagged with a final round of 79 after opening with a pair of 74s. She slipped from joint 10th place to a final position of tied 25th on 227. Sinead had a double bogey 7 at the long fourth and no birdies, after shooting six birdies over the first two rounds.
East Tennessee State stablemate Lucy Gould, twice winner of the Welsh girls title, score 76, 73 and 79 for a share of 27th place on 228. She had been joint 14th with one round to go. Lucy had a double bogey 5 at the short eighth and a double bogey 7 at the long ninth in an outward 41 in her final round.
Another Irish player, Dawn-Marie Conaty (Memphis) finished joint 49th on 234 with scores of 78, 76 and 80.
Notre Dame (878) won the team event with Georgia State fourth on 896 and East Tennessee State tied sixth of 17 on 913.
