Hacienda del Alamo Women's Winter Festival

TWO EX-IRISH
CHAMPIONS
CONSIDER
MURCIA
WARM-UP
Former Curtis Cup
player Claire Coughlan
(left) from Cork, the 1999
Irish women's amateur
champion, and Deirdre
Smith, the 2004 title-
winner, have another thing
in common.
Both are considering
going to the Hacienda del
Alamo Women's Winter Golf
Festival from February 10 to 23 in the Murcia region of south-east Spain. Claire lost her Ladies European Tour card at the recent Final Qualifying School and must start the long slog back to next year's Q School.
For Claire, Hacienda del Alamo, a five-star golf resort with five-star practice facilities: a six-hole Academy course, a 36-bay driving range, a bunker practice green, a practice putting green (huge) and a pitching and chipping practice green, represents a great setting to get her game back into shape for 2008.
For Deirdre, it's a chance to get in some sustained practice and a little bit of competition in the six events over the two weeks. Deirdre may only go out to Hacienda del Alamo for one of the two weeks.
But that's OK. It's a player-friendly tournament. You can arrive any day of the week and you can leave any day of the next week.

Remember the Hacienda del Alamo Women's Winter Golf Festival is open to Lady professionals and Lady amateurs with handicaps under 10. There is no mininum or maximum age but you must either be a professional or a single-figure handicap amateur.
DON'T DELAY. THE BUDGET AIRLINE PRICES WILL GO UP, NOT COME DOWN.
