LAURA & PORTIA HELP
JACKSONVILLE STATE
WIN TEAM TITLE AT
MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA

Two English students, Laura Cutler from Essex and
Portia Abbott from Wiltshire helped Jacksonville State University win the team event at the Troy University Women's Invitational tournament at Arrowhead Country Club, Montgomery in Alabama.
Laura, a freshman student who finished joint sixth in the "Hawkeye" earlier in the 2007-2008 college season, had scores of 79 and 77 for a total of 156 which earned her joint 18th place in a field of 94 players.
Portia (pictured right) had rounds of 75 and 84 for joint 36th place individually on 159 over a par-72 course measuring 5,926yd.
Another English student, Andrea Downer (Murray State University) from Surrey - a winner on the US college circuit a couple of months back, finished tied 73rd in the field of 94 players with scores of 83 and 86 for 169.
Daniele Dunlop (Nicholls State University) was the individual winner with 76 and 74 for a six-over-par total of 150, which suggests the weather had been on the rough side, even in the state of Alabama.
Jacksonville State (611) won the team title from Nicholls State (616) with Belmont (619) third and Murray State (633) ninth.
