SCOTTISH LADIES OPEN RUNNER-UP DANIELLE MASTERS
ENTERS HACIENDA DEL ALAMO WINTER FESTIVAL
By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Former Curtis Cup and Vagliano Trophy amateur Danielle Masters, joint runner-up in the recent De Vere Ladies' Scottish Open, is the biggest "name" so far to enter the Hacienda del Alamo Women's Winter Festival.
The Kent-based 24-year-old, who is sponsored by Chart Hills Golf Club, says she will be going down to the five-star Murcia resort in sunny southern Spain with her family for both weeks (February 10 to 23).
"I can hardly wait," said Danielle who is currently 23rd in the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit with two events still to be played to complete the 2007 season. She is playing in both of them - the Indian Ladies Masters at Bangalore followed by the Dubai Ladies Masters.
Turning professional after the 2004 Curtis Cup match at Formby, Danielle has had five top 10 finishes in her pro career. In 2006 she won 39,676 Euros but she has topped that this year with a current figure of 46,373 Euros, including a personal best 15,033 Euros for that joint second finish in the Ladies' Scottish Open.
Danielle has her own website - http://www.daniellemasters.com/
"My first golfing memory was when my dad bought me a left-handed seven-iron at the age of 10. This inspired me to take up the game which I played for two years before discovering right-handed golf was easier," she writes.
A bubby personality, Danielle lists "clubbing, socialising and reading" as her Main Interests.
There won't be a dull moment at Hacienda del Alamo Golf Resort while Miss Masters is around. That's for sure!
