English Women's Golf Association Press Release

Two England teams will bid for Spanish honours

The English Women's Golf Association has selected two teams for the
Nations Cup event at next week's Spanish amateur championship.

Team A is: Liz Bennett from Brokenhurst Manor, Hampshire; English
champion Naomi Edwards from Ganton, Yorkshire; and British U18
strokeplay champion Florentyna Parker from Royal Birkdale, Lancashire.

Team B is: Holly Aitchison from Bedfordshire Golf Club; Rachel Jennings
from Izaak Walton, Staffordshire; and Kerry Smith from Waterlooville,
Hampshire.

The players are all members of EWGA's performance squad. Five of them
were part of England's winning team at last year's Home Internationals
while Florentyna Parker helped Europe to win the Junior Solheim Cup.

The Spanish championship will be played at La Reserva from Wednesday,
February 27 to Sunday, March 2 and it provides England's Curtis Cup
hopefuls with their final chance to impress the selectors. The GB&I
team to take on the USA at St Andrews at the end of May will be
announced by the Ladies Golf Union on March 6.
