ROYAL PORTRUSH WIN SUZUKI SENIOR CUP
FOR FOURTH TIME IN SEVEN YEARS

PRESS RELEASE ISSUED BY IRISH LADIES GOLF UNION
Royal Portrush won their fourth title in seven years by defeating The Island in the final of the 2008 SUZUKI Senior Cup at Galway Golf Club today.
In the middle order, Lucy Simpson and Naoimh Quigg were in superb form, ending their matches against Suzy Sheehan and Sarah Carty on the 14th and 13th greens respectively.
In the top match, Gemma Hegarty parred the 18th to take her match with Rachel Cassidy to tie holes.
Meanwhile, Helen Jones and Angie Dwyer had a real battle in the fourth match and were called in from their encounter when Maura Diamond closed out the final match on the course on the 15th green.

Rachel Cassidy halved with Gemma Hegarty
Suzy Sheehan lost to Lucy Simpson 5 and 4.
Sarah Carty lost to Naoimh Quigg 7 and 5.
Angie Dwyer halved with Helen Jones
Gertie McMullan lost to Maura Diamond 4 and 3.
