Oklahoma victory No 2 for

Laura Jones from Cheshire

Laura Jones from Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, picture right by courtesy of leaderboardphotography.com, a second-year student at Oklahoma City University, has won for the second time on the American women's college circuit.
A winner in her rookie year in the States, 19-year-old Laura, a member at Royal Liverpool Golf Club and winner of the Formby Leveret tournament last summer, has captured her own college's open tournament, the Oklahoma City Star Classic, over the 6,137yd, par-73 Lincoln Park course.
A former Cheshire girls champion, Laura headed a field of 45 players with steady rounds of 73 and 72 for a one-under-par total of 145 - three shots ahead of team-mate Sydney Cos (73-75) and Meghann Stevens (Northwood-Texas) (75-73).
Not surprisingly, Oklahoma City won the eight-team event by a big margin from runners-up Southern Nazarene University.
