Another top-five finish by
Laura Cutler in America
but Portia slips back

Laura Cutler from Essex, a freshman student at Jacksonville State University, followed up her second-place finish last week by coming joint fifth in the UAB Fall Beach Bash women's college tournament at The Peninsula Golf & Racquets Club, Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Laura, pictured above from the JSU website, had scores of 74 and 75 for 149 over a 5945yd course with a par of 72. She finished seven shots behind the three-shot winner, Stevy Loy (Columbia University) with 75 and 67 for two-under 142.
But Laura's compatriot and JSU team-mate, Portia Abbott, who tied for third place last week, was down the field in this one with scores of 81 and 79 for 160 and 40th place in a field of 69.
Portia had four double bogeys over the 36 holes.
Jacksonville State, who won the team event at the Troy Invitational last week, finished third of 14 this time behind Columbia and Samford.
