Stephanie Meadow sets course record in latest


AJGA tournament win in North Carolina

Stephanie Meadow from Jordanstown, Northern Ireland on Sunday won the highly-ranked American Junior Golf Association tournament, The Cliffs Championship, at Walnot Cove, North Carolina.
Stephanie, a former Irish girls champion who is a resident student at the Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, won by six strokes from a field of 24 top juniors with rounds of one-under-par 70 and four-under 67 (a women's course record) for a five-under-par total of 137.
The temperature got up as high as 85 degrees Fahrenheit during the tournament.
The AJGA is the largest association of its kind with an annual junior membership of over 5000 junior golfers (boys and girls). The main sponsors are Titleist , Rolex Watch USA and Polo Ralph Lauren. Tiger Woods , Phil Mickleson Christie Kerr , Paula Creamer, Morgan Pressel and Brittany Lincicome are just some of the golf stars who played in AJGA events.
The Cliffs Communities are also involved with Tiger Woods’ first golf course which will be located a short distance from Walnut Cove in Asheville, North Carolina.
