Shire without new champion

Sara at Royal Dornoch

Aberdeenshire will be without their new county champion, Sara Thomson (Murcar Links), for the North Division inter-county team golf championship against Angus, Northern Counties and Perth & Kinross at Royal Dornoch from June 27 to 29.
Sara will be on honeymoon after her wedding to assistant professional golfer Terry Mathieson.
There are three new "caps" in the Shire team - Sammy Leslie (Westhill), who reached the final of the county championship at Peterhead, Mhairi Johnstone (Northern), a semi-finalist in last year's Scottish Under-18 girls' championship at Alyth, and Gill Murray (Cruden Bay).

The winners of the North Division title go forward to the Scottish women's county championship finals at Baberton Golf Club, near Edinburgh, from September 18 to 20.
