Kate takes the top spot on the East of Scotland

Girls' Order of Merit Table

By MANDY EASTON
The leading East of Scotland Girls Golf Assocaition Order of Merit winners received their prizes yesterday at the East of Scotland Ladies’ Championship which was held at Mortonhall Golf Club, Edinburgh. Kate McIntosh of Broomieknowe, Midlothian was awarded the top spot after an excellent year of golf. Kate gained points from winning the scratch prizes in the East Girls' Spring and Autumn Meetings, from reaching the East Girls Championship final as well as taking the title of Midlothian County Junior Champion.
The East of Scotland Girls Champion, Rachel Hanlon, St Regulus, Fife took second spot with Gabrielle Macdonald of Craigielaw taking third and Alison Goodwin, Glenbervie taking fourth place.
The East of Scotland Girls have enjoyed a very rewarding season. After successfully defending the SLGA Girls Inter-Divisional matches at Ballumbie as a team many of the girls went on to individual successes at Club, County, District and National Level.
The Association also saw a large number of new girls join, with nearly each and every member reducing their handicap by a substantial amount.
