Another English winner on US college circuit

England's Carley Warrington from Bradwell, in her final year at Belmont Abbey College near Charlotte, North Carolina, won the St Andrews Spring Invitational women's college tournament at the Woodlake Resort and Golf Club, Vass in North Carolina yesterday.
The tournament was dominated by Belmot Abbey College with Carley (pictured) tieing with team-mate Rita Kim at the head of a field of 32 players - and winning a sudden death play-off at the first extra hole.
In what must have been bad weather for the 36-hole event, Carley had rounds of 77 and 78 for 155 and Rita 76 and 79 over the par-72, 5805yd course.
A third Belmont Abbey player, Michele Low, was third with rounds of 78 and 81 for 159.
And Melissa Siviter from Staffordshire, a freshman student at Belmont Abbey, shared fifth place with a pair of 82s for 164. Melissa won a college event at Kiawah Island on February 9. Carley Warrington is a previous winner on the US college circuit.
Not surprisingly, Belmont Abbey ran away with the team title, scoring 633 to runners-up North Carolina-Pembroke's 666 with Mount Olive College a distant third on 279 in the field of seven teams.

Jacqueline Sneddon jt 60th at Red Rocks Invitational

Jacqueline Sneddon from Meigle, Perthshire, a student Grand Canyon University, Arizona, tied for 60th place in a field of 105 players for the Red Rocks Invitational college tournament at Oak Creek Country Club, Sedona in Arizona.
Jacqueline had scores of 83 and 86 for 169.
Paige Rachor (Portland University) was the individual winner with scores of 77 and 72 for 149. Grand Canyon (650) finished eighth of 18 in the team event won by Northern Arizona (613).
