SPAIN LEAD INTERNATIONAL TEAM EVENT AT ALWOODLEY

Spain's trio of Carlota Ciganda, Araceli Felgueroso and Azahara Munoz are leading the international team event which is staged in conjunction with the 36-hole qualifying rounds at the "British."
Here is how they stand:
(Two from three scores to count)
142 SPAIN (C Ciganda 70, A Munoz 72, A Felgueroso 80).
143 NETHERLANDS (C Boeljon 70, D-C Schreefel 73, M Van der Graaff 74).
147 AUSTRALIA (E Bennett 71, K Combes 76, B Arthur 82).
148 WALES (S Hassan 72, B Loucks 76, T Davies 79).
150 SWEDEN (P Lindberg 75, C Westrup 75, A Nordqvist 76).
151 CANADA ( K Meixner 72, L Matthews 79, S Sherlock 79), FRANCE (C Afonso 75, E Alonso 76, A Decharne 81), GERMANY (D Becker 75, K Schallenberg 76, S Doering 78), IRELAND (M Riordan 75, D Smith 76, T Delaney 77).
152 SCOTLAND (H MacRae 76, J Wilson 76, K Caithness 78).
154 ENGLAND (M Reid 75, K Smith 79, N Edwards 80).
159 AUSTRIA (F Wolte 79, S Poelderl 80).

PLAY-OFF ON 154 A WEDNESDAY POSSIBILITY
Correction to number of players who are definitely in the running for the 64 places in the match-play stages.
There are a total of 71 players with first-round scores of 77 or better, including 16 on the 77 mark. This would suggest that 154 is the "magic figure" for qualifying after the second round but there will almost certainly be a play-off to obtain the precise number of 64 qualifiers
