DEVON GIRL EMMA TAYLOR RUNNER-UP
AT SUNSET BEACH'S SEA TRAIL EVENT

Emma Taylor, a third-year student from Devon at Bethune-Cookman College, Dayton Beach, Florida, finished second in a field of 78 for the Sea Trail Women's Intercollegiate tournament over the William Byrd Course at Sunset Beach, North Carolina at the weekend.
Over the par-72, 5,947yd course, Emma scored 72. 74 and 72 for 218, finishing three shots behind the winner, Andrea Downer (Murray State University) (74-71-70)
Emma's team-mates Becky Dowell, a final-year student from Somerset and Fern Grimshaw, a third-year student from Dorset finished joint 14th and joint 22nd respecitively on 231 and 234.
Becky scored 76, 72 and 83, Fern 73 76 and 85.
The English girls' efforts helped Bethune-Cookman College tie for the team title with Elon University, both totalling 904.
Ashton Ingram from Fort-William, a second-year student at Belmont Abbey College, North Carolina, tied for 46th place with scores of 78, 81 and 82 for 242, one shot more than Ireland's Ann Marie Dalton (High Point) who was joint 40th with scores of 79, 82 and 80.
Belmont Abbey (954) and High Point (966) finished ninth and 12th respectively in the field of 14 college teams.
