SIXTH STIRLING TITLE AFTER
FINAL NUMBER EIGHT FOR
ALISON DAVIDSON

Alison Davidson (Stirling) won the Stirling & Clackmannan women's county golf championship for a sixth time at Grangemouth Golf Club this evening.
Playing in the final for an eighth time in an 18-year span, the former Curtis Cup player and past British and Scottish champion beat Linda Allan (Falkirk Tryst) by 6 and 4 with three-under-par figures.
Alison was the No 1 seed and Linda the No 3 qualifier.

Mrs Davidson's first three wins, from 1990 to 1992, were achieved as Alison Rose. She lost in the 2002 and 2003 finals as Alison Davidson but has resumed her winning ways in 2005, 2007 and now 2008.

Final - A Davidson (Stirling) bt L Allan (Falkirk Tryst) 6 and 4.
