Irish-born US Curtis Cup player shares lead in
California but Roseanne
has a quadruple bogey 8

Crieff's Roseanne Niven (University of California-Berkeley) had a disappointing start to the NCAA Division 1 women's West Regional championship over the par-72, 6338yd course at Lincoln Hills Golf Club, Sacramento in California.
The former Scottish girls champion ran up a quadruple bogey 8 at the par-4 13th and also dropped shots at the second, sixth, seventh, 10th, 14th and 17th in halves of 39 and 43 for a 10-over-par 82 and a share of 100th place in a field of 108.

US Curtis Cup team-mate Stacy Lewis (Arkansas) is one of four players in joint second place on 69.
