Davidson v Allan at Grangemouth on Friday

ALISON THROUGH TO EIGHTH FINAL
AT STIRLING & CLACKMANNAN


Past Curtis Cup player and former British amateur champion Alison Davidson (Stirling) is through to her eighth final of the Stirling & Clackmannan county women's amateur golf championship.
Alison, the No 1 seed, beat the fourth qualifier, Louise McGregor (Falkirk) by 3 and 2 in the first semi-final at Grangemouth Golf Club tonight (Wed) after being one down at the 12th.
She has been county champion five times in all - 2005 and 2007 as Mrs Davidson and 1990-91-92 as Alison Rose. She also lost in the 2002 and 2003 finals.
In Friday's final (5.30pm), Alison will play the 2006 title-winner, Linda Allan who beat Vikki Stevenson (Stevenson) by one hole in a repeat of the final of two years ago. A tight semi-final was all square after 15 holes. The 16th and 17th were halved before Mrs Allan won on the last green.

Semi-finals - A Davidson (Stirling) bt L McGregor (Falkirk) 3 and 2, L Allan (Falkirk Tryst) bt V Stevenson (Stirling) 1 hole.
