Louise Kenney wins

East of Scotland

championship

Scotland international Louise Kenney maintained her good form from the women's home internationals to win the East of Scotland women's amateur championship at Elie today.
Pitreavie Golf Club member Louise headed a field of 28 with a one-under-par round of 72. Pictured right with the trophy (image by courtesy of Dorothy Ford, Miss Kenney had two shots to spare from runner-up Jane Turner (Craigielaw).
Three players finished joint third on 76 - Linda Caine (Merchants of Edinburgh), Ashley Wilton (Ladybank) and Claire Hargan (Prestonfield). Linda's better inward half gained her third prize.
The handicap award was won by Gillian Simpson (Murrayfield) with a net 72 off five. Midlothian (Jane Turner, Rachael Livingstone and Claire Hargan) won the team title.
