Jodi Ewart, another outstanding performance on the US women's college golf circuit.

Jodi ties for victory in Arizona Wildcat

Invitational in Mexico

Curtis Cup player Jodi Ewart from Yorkshire, a junior (third-year) student at New Mexico University, tied for victory with Lizette Salas (Southern California) in the Arizona Wildcat Invitational women's college tournament at Puerto Penasco, Sonora in Mexico.
Jodi improved with every round - 72, 71 and 70 - over the 6146yd, par-72 Nicklaus Legacy course- for a three-under-par total of 213.
Salas scored scored 73, 71 and 69 to match that total.
They finished one shot ahead of Spanish ace Carlota Ciganda, who only enrolled at Arizona State in January, and Sweden's Caroline Hedwall, beaten finalist in last year's British women's open amateur at North Berwick.
It was Jodie's 26th tournament on the US college circuit and her fourth individual victory, equalling the college record set by Caroline Keggi, now an LPGA Tour player.
Jodi was born on January 7, 1988 at Northallerton and is a member of Catterick Golf Club.
In a class field, Amanda Blumenherst (Duke), the US Curtis Cup player and ranked No 1 on the American women's college circuit, finished tied 18th on 222 and she needed a closing round of 69 to make the top 20.
Former English girls champion Ellie Givens (Denver) from Darlington shared 30th place on 227 with scores of 73, 78 and 76.
Scotland's Rebecca Watson finished on 240 and a share of 71st place with scores of 84, 74 and 83.
Ellie Givens' Irish team-mate Sarah Faller finished 73rd on 241 with scores of 74, 82 and 85.
British women's open amateur stroke-play champion Roseanne Niven (California) was disqualified for a first-round scorecard error but was allowed to return cards of 89 and 82 in the subsequent rounds.
UCLA (869) won the team title ahead of Arizona State and Southern California, both 878 with Oklahoma State fourth on 888.
