James Byrne joint 24th in Pac-10 Championship

James Byrne from Banchory, a student at Arizona State University, finished joint 24th in a field of 60 players at the Pac-10 Men's Championship, played at Seattle Golf Club, Washington.
Byrne had rounds of 76, 73, 74 and 71 for a total of 294, six over par for the 6836yd course.
Washington students finished first and second, Darren Wallace totalling 277 with scores of 70, 72, 65 and 70.
He finished four shots ahead of team-mate Nick Taylor who scored 76, 70, 67 and 68 for 281.
Needless to say, Washington (1424) won the team event from Oregon (1442) with Arizona State (1456) third of 10 teams.

FRASER McKENNA MAKES TOP 20 IN TEXAS

Glasgow's Fraser McKenna, a freshman student at Southeastern Louisiana University, finished joint 18th in a field of 50 for the Men's Southland Conference Championship at The Club at Comanche Trace, Kerville in Texas.
McKenna scored 73, 74 and 75 for 222 over a very long par-72 course of 7,304yd.
Three players tied at the top of the leaderboard on 212 - Zack Fowler (Texas-Arlington), Justin Harding (Lamar) and Cedric Sutto (Southeastern Louisiana).
Sutto, who had made up ground on Fischer (77) and Harding (72) with a last-round 69, won the play-off at the second extra hole.
Graham Benson (Southeastern Louisiana) from Leighton Buzzard finished seventh with scores of 75, 71 and 71 for 217 while Fergal Rafferty (Sam Houston State), from Carrickmore, Omagh in Northern Ireland, tied for eighth place with scores of 78, 70 and 70 for 218.
Lamar (859) won the team title ahead of Texas-Arlington (869) and Southeastern Louisiana (871) in a field of 10 teams.
