US Futures Tour goes south of the Border down Mexico way

NEWS RELEASE
The LPGA's developmental tour, the Duramed Futures Tour, and Carri Sports Marketing S.A. de C.V., announced today the inaugural Mexico Classic, to be held March 22-28, at El Tigre Golf and Country Club in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico. The 54-hole tournament marks the first international full-field event in the Futures Tour's 30-year history.
"We are very pleased for the first time to be able to showcase our very talented players outside the United States," said Zayra F. Calderon, CEO of the Duramed Futures Tour. "As the Tour continues to flourish, Mexico is a great platform to extend our reach and provide the citizens of Mexico the chance to see the LPGA stars of tomorrow and some of their own professionals compete for the largest purse on Tour."
"I'm very excited to see that golf is growing a lot in Mexico with more tournaments," said Lorena Ochoa, Duramed Futures Tour's 2002 Player of the Year, who earned her LPGA membership through the developmental tour. "To have a Duramed Futures Tour tournament in our country is very special. I want to say congratulations and help welcome the players to Mexico."
The $150,000 tournament will feature a field of 144-players, including special invitees from Mexico. El Tigre golf course is a par-72 course, designed by Robert Von Hagge and Rick Berril. The course, which opened in March 2002, has previously hosted the Copa de las Americas, and the Canadian Tour.
The Mexico Classic marks a five-year agreement between the Duramed Futures Tour and Carri Sports Marketing. Carri Sports Marketing manages more than 33 amateur and professional sporting events across Mexico. Carri Sports Marketing also assisted with the Nationwide Tour's 2009 Mexico Open.
"We are very pleased to be part of bringing the Duramed Futures Tour to Mexico for the first time," said Hugo Rivero Laing, President of Carri Sports Marketing. "With this joint effort between the Tour, El Tigre Golf and Country Club, our sponsors, and the government of Nayarit, Mexico, we look to stimulate women's golf in Mexico and present an enormous opportunity for Mexican players to compete alongside the Tour's great players."
The top Mexican-born finisher in the event, whether a Duramed FuturesTour member or a special invitee, will receive a special exemption to compete in the LPGA's tournament held at Tres Marias Golf Club in Morelia, Mexico in 2010.
The full 2010 Duramed Futures Tour schedule will be announced in December.

Gemma and Katy miss the US Futures Q School cut in Florida

Glasgow's Gemma Webster and Katy McNicoll from Carnoustie failed to survive the fourth round cut which reduced the US Futures Tour Qualifying School tournament field to 99 players at Winterhaven, Florida today.
Gemma had rounds of 77, 78, 74 and 76 over the four Central Florida courses for a total of 17-over-par 305 while Katy scored 78, 76, 77 and 75 for 306. Webster was joint 138th and McNicoll joint 145th. The Scots would have had to score 301 or better to get through to the fifth and final round.
Woburn amateur Tilly Magill, who was Tilly Holder, also missed out on 307 with scores of 78, 72, 77 and 80 for joint 157th ploace.
All 263 players who completed four rounds will get a ranking for the 2010 Futures Tour season but the less highly-placed competitors will get into fewer events.
Curtis Cup player Jodi Ewart from Catterick, Yorkshire, a final-year student at New Mexico University, goes into the final round on a high after matching the tournament low score of five-under-par 67 in the fourth round.
Jodi is on six-under-par 282 after earlier rounds of 69, 73 and 73. She intends turning pro after the 2010 Curtis Cup match in the States.
Another English amateur, Scots pro's daughter Rachel Connor (Manchester) dropped back to joint 42nd place from 11th place overnight after running up an 80 in the fourth round for 294. Her earlier rounds had been 73, 72 and 69.
Americans Danielle Mills and 2008 Curtis Cup player Tiffany Joh jointly lead the field by six strokes on 13-under-par 275.

Ten Duramed Futures Tour players

earn 2010 LPGA membership

NEW RELEASE ISSUED BY THE US DURAMED FUTURES TOUR
Ten Duramed FUTURES Tour players have earned 2010 LPGA membership by finishing in the top 10 on the season money list.
This year's Duramed FUTURES Tour graduates are, in order of finish:
1. Mina Harigae of Monterey, Calif.
2. Jean Reynolds of Newnan, Ga.
3. Misun Cho of Cheongju, South Korea;
4. Samantha Richdale of Kelowna, British Columbia
5. Song Yi Choi of Seoul, South Korea
6. Whitney Wade of Glasgow, Ky
7. Angela Buzminski of Oshawa, Ontario
8. Christine Song of Fullerton, Calif
9. Alison Walshe of Westford, Mass.
10. Dewi Claire Schreefel of Diepenveen, Netherlands.
The 2009 season is the eleventh year in the 29-year history of the Duramed FUTURES Tour that players have been able to earn automatic exemptions onto the LPGA Tour and the seventh year that at least five LPGA memberships have been awarded.
From 1999 to 2002, three exemptions were offered to top money winners. The 2009 season marks the second time 10 LPGA memberships were awarded.
Also today, the next five players on the Tour's money list, excluding current LPGA members, earned automatic entry into the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla., set for Nov. 2-6. Those players, in order of finish, are as follows:
Pernilla Lindberg of Bollnas, Sweden; Gerina Mendoza of Roswell, N.M.; Danah Ford of Indianapolis; Lisa Meldrum of Montreal, Quebec; Jenny Suh of Fairfax, Va.; and Liz Janangelo of West Hartford, Conn.
"My whole goal this year was to make top five and to get into the LPGA," said Harigae, 19, who finished on top of the Tour's season money list with single-season earnings of $88,386, and a rookie year that included three tournament wins. "But to come in first, it's just the icing on the cake. It's great."
Second-year Tour veteran Reynolds won two times this season and finished second on the Tour's money list with earnings of $76,647.
"It's awesome," said Reynolds. "I've been looking forward to this. It still hasn't sunk in yet. It will probably [sink in] around Christmas when I haven't had to go to Qualifying School. I'm looking forward to next year. It's going to be a fun journey.
Cho also was a two-time winner this season. She finished the season ranked third in earnings at $64,118. She looks forward to next year's LPGA season, when she'll play against several fellow South Koreans.
"It makes me comfortable that there are so many Korean players out there," said Cho. "I can relate to them. I'm just going to enjoy myself next year and just keep working hard."
Richdale's second win of the season at the Turkey Hill Classic in Harrisburg, Pa., sealed the Canadian's spot in the top 5. She finished in the No. 4 spot on the money list with earnings of $59,292.
"I definitely felt I need to make a big move towards the end," said Richdale. "The win in Harrisburg was huge for me. I was able to come out this week and just have fun."
Rounding out the top five with earnings of $42,939 was Choi. She started out the week ranked 11th on the season money list but her win at this week's ILOVENY Championship and her $15,400 winner's check vaulted her up the money list into the No. 5 spot.
"It's a very good feeling," said Choi of her first professional win. "I came into this week knowing I had to win and move up. I can't wait for next year."

Six players tied for lead in Futures

Tour's season-ending tournament

NEWS RELEASE FROM US DURAMED FUTURES TOUR
A logjam at the top of the leaderboard could be expected at the Duramed FUTURES Tour's final event of the year, this week's $110,000 ILOVENY Championship at Albany, New York State.
And as players push to win the final tournament with hopes of making one last charge up the money list, a logjam was exactly what happened today when six players carded a score of 4-under-par 67 to share the lead after the opening round.
"I hit it OK, but today, the putts finally dropped," said Liz Janangelo of West Hartford, Conn., who carded a bogey-free round with four birdies to share the lead with Mo Martin of Altadena, Calif., Song Yi Choi of Seoul, South Korea, Nontaya Srisawang of Chiang Mai, Thailand, Libby Smith of Essex Junction, Vt., and Dewi Claire Schreefel of Diepenveen, Netherlands.
With the end of the 2009 season only two rounds away and players' nerves on edge, the Capital Hills at Albany course offered smooth and speedy greens and generous fairways, in spite of punitive rough. Still, the region was finally graced by perfect weather conditions and players took advantage of a good day for scoring on the hilly 6,124-yard, par-71 course. Five of the co-leaders played in the morning rounds, with only Schreefel joining the leaders in the afternoon.
Janangelo, who won twice on the Duramed FUTURES Tour in 2007, said she took five days off and worked only on putting and her short game. That focus made a difference today, with the former LPGA Tour member needing only 28 putts for her share of the lead.
But it was Martin, a two-time career winner on the Duramed FUTURES Tour, who literally battled mind over malady today with an injury to her left back and ribs. Martin withdrew from the pro-am earlier in the week and even considered withdrawing from the tournament this morning. The mysterious ailment to her back limited her to hitting only 20-some full shots since Monday.
"It hurt every time I swung the club, so I told my caddie this morning that I was going to wince 40 times and only have 26 putts," said Martin, who was only two strokes off from her prediction with 28 putts today. "I really had no idea what today would look like. I guess it goes back to the old theory of how they say, 'Beware of the sick golfer.'"
Currently ranked 11th and trying to crack into the top 10 to regain LPGA membership for 2010, Choi's scorecard featured three birdies and three bogeys on her front nine, but the Korean rallied on the back to post four birdies and eliminate the bogeys.
"I know I have to make a move on Sunday, and today, I was a little bit scared," said Choi, who hit 14 greens in regulation. "But I got good confidence on the back nine. That was better."
Like Choi, Srisawang is still adjusting to East-Coast time after playing last week in Portland, Oregon in the LPGA's Safeway Classic. The Thai player admitted that she slept only three hours last night, but still felt "comfortable and calm" in today's opening round. She carded five birdies and one bogey today, including three consecutive birdies on holes 10, 11 and 12 with no putt longer than four feet.
"I'm not thinking about stress or how I was going to play," she said. "I actually feel really good and everything was pretty smooth on the back nine, which has some very challenging holes."
Smith also birdied the first three holes on the back nine, where she started her round today.
The Vermonter finished the day with six birdies and two bogeys, but with the new resolve that took form late in the season after some straight talk from her private housing host in Syracuse last month. Recognizing the natural athleticism of the former college basketball star, the host suggested to Smith that "a good round for you is 66, not even par."
"It totally made sense and it really changed my mindset," said Smith, in her sixth season as a professional. "A huge light bulb that went off. I used to be a go-getter all the time, so what he said just reminded me that I was missing belief in myself. I wasn't competing; I was surviving."
Schreefel, who won her first tournament as a professional in Connecticut back in July, got a nice jolt of confidence when she slammed home her tee shot for her first hole-in-one today on the par-3 seventh hole.
The Dutch rookie gripped down a 5-iron on the 165-yard uphill hole and watched it bounce right and toward the hole. She never saw it land, but as she walked toward the green, she hoped it was for a tap-in birdie. Instead, her ball rested in the bottom of the cup.
But rather than letting up on the next hole, the former individual NCAA champion from the University of Southern California rolled in a birdie on the par-5 eighth hole from four feet.
"After that, I was feeling pretty good, but I knew the back nine is harder and I had to stay in it," said Schreefel, who is ranked ninth on the 2009 money list. "There's a lot of pressure on everybody this week. People tell me if I win, I'll get my [full LPGA] card. I don't want to get too much into that. I just want to play well."
Schreefel played the front nine at four-under par and the back nine at even par-35, with one birdie and one bogey.
Second-ranked Jean Reynolds of Newnan, Ga., and first-year Tour member Pornanong Phatlum of Chaiyaphum, Thailand, are one shot off the lead at 3-under 68.
Six players are at 2-under 69, including top-ranked Mina Harigae of Monterey, Calif., and No. 6 Angela Buzminski of Oshawa, Ontario. Harigae is a three-time winner this season.
A total of 26 players are under par after the first round, with 14 players scoring in the 60s.

After a weekend of weather delays and darkness suspensions, the $110,000 Turkey Hill Classic, presented by Felicita Garden Resort and Spa, at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania came to an end on a sunny Monday, with Samantha Richdale of Kelowna, British Columbia, claiming her third Duramed Futures Tour victory in a play-off against Amanda Mathis of Opelousas, Louisiana.
Today's final marked the first time a Duramed Futures Tour event finished on a Monday since the 1997 SunTrust FUTURES Classic in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
Richdale (68) and Mathis (69) ended regulation tied at 10-under-par (206), forcing the one-hole play-off on No 18. Both players' second shots ended in the rough, just shy of the green. Richdale managed to get it up and down for par and the win, with Mathis having to settle for a bogey.
"I didn't have a very good second shot," said Richdale, who is currently a member of the LPGA Tour. "I usually hit it a little short when I'm nervous, so I was trying to make sure I didn't do that. I'm glad I had to just tap it in for par."
Richdale started the morning's three strokes behind the leaders, after Sunday's final-round play was suspended for darkness.
"I was just hoping to have a good finish," said Richdale, who recorded 10 wins in collegiate competition while at Illinois State University. "I finished a lot better than I thought. I didn't start off too smooth. I had a bogey on the second hole. After that I just started concentrating on making good shots and good putts."
Saturday's second-round play was also suspended for darkness following Friday's first round weather-related suspension, something Richdale is very familiar with, having won the rain-shortened Louisiana Pelican Classic in Lafayette, Louisiana early in the season. Richdale also won the 2008 The Gettysburg Championship in nearby Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
"It's been a long week," said Richdale. "The grounds crew did an amazing job trying to clean up the course. It reminded me of when I won in Louisiana. It was exciting to come back to Pennsylvania. I've got some really great fans here. That helped me a lot."
While Mathis came up short for the victory, her second place finish marks her best finish on the Futures Tour.
"I'm happy," said Mathis, who recorded five top-10 finishes in collegiate competition, including two wins, while at Mississippi State University. "It was my first time in the final group, my first time to be in contention. I think my adrenaline kicked in a little too much. When I saw the leaderboard on No. 18, I knew I had to make a birdie to win and I think I pushed it a little."
Sharing a tie for third are Jean Reynolds (68) of Newnan, Georgia, and Mina Harigae (70) of Monterey, California, at -9 (207).
With her win, Richdale is now ranked fourth on the money list, as the tour nears the end of its season. The top-10 money list leaders will earn their LPGA cards after the ILOVENY Championship in Albany, New York State from September 4-6.
"It takes a little stress out of it," said Richdale, who was previously ranked fifth. "I'm pretty excited to have a bit of a lead going into Albany."
Harigae remains on top of the money list, with Reynolds in second and Misun Cho of Cheongju, South Korea, in third. Whitney Wade of Glasgow, Kentucky, moves from fourth to fifth.
"I wasn't hitting well this week," said Harigae, a rookie who has won three times this season. "I wasn't making any putts. But I'm pretty sure I have secured an LPGA card, so that's a positive. I've had a good season and any top-five finish is good. We'll have to see what happens in Albany."

Futures Tour event hit by bad weather

First-round play of the US Duramed Futures Tour's $110,000 Turkey Hill Classic was suspended due to rain rendering the course unplayable. Play was suspended at 11:50 a.m local time as over an inch of rain fell on the already saturated course at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
"Today's rain, along with the rain we had earlier in the week, was too much for the course to handle," said Christy Barks, Vice-president of Tournament Operations. "The course is just too wet to continue play and we'll resume Saturday to allow time for it to drain."
Hannah Yun of Bradenton, Florida was leading at the time of suspension, at 4-under-par, through nine holes.
Samantha Richdale of Kelowna, British Columbia, and Ashley Prange of Noblesville, Ind., share a tie for second at 3-under-par, also through nine holes.
First-round competition of the inaugural Turkey Hill Classic, presented by Felicita Garden Resort and Spa, will resume Saturday at 8 am local time. The second round is expected to start at 1:40 p.m. EDT. Players will not be paired by score, but will remain in their first-round pairings.

US FUTURES TOUR REPORT

Lisa Meldrum becomes third Canadian to

win on US Futures Tour this season

NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY THE US DURAMED FUTURES TOUR
Lisa Meldrum became the third Canadian to win on the 2009 Duramed Futures Tour (on Sunday) when she captured her first Tour title at the $100,000 iMPACT Classic.
The quiet champion not only grabbed her first professional title Stateside, but she broke free from a crowded leaderboard and posted a final-round score of 5-under 67 to finish at 208 (-8) at Richmond Country Club.
Tied for second at 209 (-7) was the trio of Gerina Mendoza (68) of Roswell, N.M., Song Yi Choi (69) of Seoul, South Korea, and Pernilla Lindberg (73) of Bollnas, Sweden.
"It feels unbelievable," said Meldrum, 27, a fourth-year professional from Montreal, Quebec, who jumped from 45th to 15th on the Tour's season money list. "I expected to be in a play-off and I was preparing for that. My heart was pounding a little fast on the last hole, so when I finished, I just went up to the practice green and waited."
But from the practice green, located behind the 18th hole, the Canadian tried to calm her nerves as the final three groups finished their rounds. She knew that Choi needed to make a birdie to force the play-off and she knew that Lindberg's approach to the final hole had landed short of the green. Lindberg would have to chip in to force an extra hole.
"I heard the crowd go 'Awwwwwww' after each and I knew they had missed, and then the next thing I knew, [the Tour staff] came to get me for the trophy presentation," said Meldrum, who won her first professional title at the 2006 CN Canadian Women's Tour Championship. All week long, Richmond Country Club's smooth-rolling and speedy greens had drawn high praise from the pros.
An old-fashioned what-you-see-is-what-you-get kind of course with subtleties both in the fairways and on the greens required careful course management. The final three finishing holes, all par-4s, demanded well-placed tee shots to avoid being blocked out by mature trees lining the fairways.
Playing at 6,278 yards, the par-72 course was not the Tour's longest, but it proved to be challenging, particularly on the greens. In the final round alone, there were eight lead changes by early afternoon with as many as five players crowded at the top of the leaderboard and that many more right behind, one shot back.
Lindberg, the former Oklahoma State University All-American who had led after the first and second rounds, held the lead through six holes today, but she stumbled with a double-bogey on No. 7 to fall into a four-way tie at seven under. A long-hitter who used mostly 3-woods off the tee all week, Lindberg birdied two of the last three par-5 holes, but bogeys on the 13th (a lip-out putt for par) and on the 16th (where she was "on the wrong side of the hole" from 12 feet) were costly down the stretch.
The rookie saved par from eight feet on the 17th, but when she pushed her approach shot on No. 18 and clipped a tree to fall short of the green, it left her with a tall task to catch the Canadian.
"It was tight all day," said Lindberg, who moved to No. 10 on the Tour's 2009 money list with two tournaments to play. "It's a little bit disappointing, but I'm pleased with the whole tournament. You always want to win, but this was another great experience."
Mendoza picked up steam on the back nine to move onto the leaderboard with four birdies on her last seven holes. The popular player from the Golf Channel's recent "Big Break Prince Edward Island" series and one who already has finished second twice on the Duramed Futures Tour, stayed steady on the back nine today and finished the round hitting 16 greens in regulation.
She ended with a 27-foot side-hill breaking putt for birdie on the last hole for a share of second place once again. Choi, who also has a runner-up finish this season, grabbed the lead today after 12 holes only to be chased down by Lindberg, Meldrum and three-time season winner Mina Harigae (72) of Monterey, Calif., who ultimately tied for fifth at 6-under 210.
Eventually, it was only Choi and Meldrum and then, it was only Meldrum as players ran out of holes and late mistakes left them short of a playoff invitation. Choi three-putted for bogey on the 16th, and attempted to roll in a 15-foot birdie putt on the last hole. Instead, she tapped in for par.
"My irons were good, but I had two 3-putts," said Choi, who hit 17 greens in regulation, but needed 34 putts today. "I didn't play bad, but it was not easy." Rookie Jennie Lee (68) of Henderson, Nev., also held the lead briefly today. She hit all nine greens on the front and rolled in three birdie putts from 10 to 12 feet, making the nine-hole turn at three under.
"When I had an opportunity for birdie, I made the putts," said Lee, a recent Duke University graduate. "It was a solid stretch on the front nine."
Lee birdied two of the first three holes on the back, but on her last four, she missed two 10-foot birdie chances and had to scramble to get up and down for par from a bunker on the 17th. The kicker was missing a four-foot downhill par putt on the 18th. "I just didn't feel as comfortable with my putter as I did earlier in the round," she said. "I made some late errors."
All this time, Meldrum was quietly producing a bogey-free, five-birdie round. She glanced at the leaderboard from the 12th hole during today's final round. She didn't look at the names, but she could see a bunch of players at -8, -7 and -6. "I was at six under and I knew it was in reach," she said. "I knew 16, 17 and 18 were good finishing holes, so when I got to the 16th, I told myself, 'Let's do this. Let's make some birdies. Let's finish it off.'"
Meldrum did make birdie on holes 12, 14 and 15, lacing her approach to one foot on the 14th and to five feet on the 15th. She had a 12-foot birdie chance on No. 17, but it didn't find the cup, and on the 18th hole, the best she could do was make her 15-foot birdie chance a two-putt par. Only then, on the 18th, did she glance at the leaderboard. She saw that she was alone at the top. And she knew there were three groups with nine players behind her.
A lot of things went through Meldrum's head on the practice green as she putted and waited and wondered if, at last, this would be her week. "Out here, you work hard and you see the low numbers every week," she said. "You play with the winners all the time and you think you should be there."
When fellow Canadian Samantha Richdale of Kelowna, British Columbia won in Louisiana back in April, Meldrum was happy. And when Angela Buzminksi of Oshawa, Ontario won the Duramed Futures Tour tournament a week later, she was happy again.
Even last year, when Ontario native Jessica Shepley played well all season and contended often, Meldrum was happy for her friend. But watching them all lit a little fire under her. If the Canadians were going to start stepping up Stateside, she might as well be among them. "I knew that I had it in me and I kept telling myself that I just had to be patient and stay determined," said Meldrum, a three-time Canadian National Amateur champion who became a three-time collegiate winner at the University of Oklahoma.
"I knew it was going to be my turn at some point." And today, when it was finally her turn, Lisa Meldrum was more than ready.

Jenny Suh scores first Futures Tour win

NEWS RELEASE FROM THE DURAMED FUTURES TOUR
Jenny Suh of Fairfax, Virginia claimed her first Tour victory today in the $100,000 Alliance Bank Golf Classic. Suh (68) won in a playoff with Seo-Jae Lee of Seoul, South Korea, after both ended regulation tied at 12-under-par (201).
"It feels great," said Suh, who recorded 12 top-10 finishes in collegiate competition, including three wins, while at the University of Alabama. "When we were coming down the stretch, things got a little bit rocky for me. I had to make a few par saves. But the whole time, I was just very happy to be in contention."
Suh came into the final round sharing the lead with Lee (68). During the one-hole playoff on No. 18, Lee overshot the green, which resulted in a bogey. But even then, Suh didn't breathe any easier, because she knew it wasn’t over.
"I'm thinking, the girl's an incredible putter," said Suh, a member of the victorious 2006 U.S. Curtis Cup team at Bandon Dunes. "So it's not over. It's like match-play when you play in a play-off. You've just got to expect your opponent to hit every shot, no matter if it's a chip or fairway shot. Seo-Jae made a lot of great putts today."
Suh says it was also like match-play during regulation at Drumlins Country Club, East Course, as she and Lee, playing together in the final pairing, traded birdies and pars.
"I just kept shooting for the pins," said Suh. "Luckily it was raining, so that was to our benefit. We could stick balls close to the hole. I thought, 'You've got nothing to lose. What's the point of being a wimp today?'"
Rainy weather conditions dominated the tournament weekend, with Tour officials issuing delays twice; a 4hr 45min delay on Friday and a 2hr delay this morning prior to the completion of the second round.
Immediately after winning, Suh called her parents to let them know of her first professional win.
"I said in Korean, 'Mom, I won,'" recalled Suh. "She sighed and asked if I hadn't played well. So I said again, 'Mom, I won!' Then she got excited. I don't think it's sunk in for me yet."
Whitney Wade (66) of Glasgow, Kentucky, finished third with a final score of 202 (-11).
"I put myself into position," said Wade, winner of The Duramed Championship earlier this year in Mason, Ohio. "That's all I can ask for. I birdied the last hole, so that helps me know I can make birdies in the end."
Sharing a tie for fourth are Caroline Larsson (67) of Stockholm, Sweden, last year's Syracuse winner Kim Welch (68) of Sacramento, Calif., and Angela Buzminski (71) of Oshawa, Ontario.
"I was really close to making a hole-in-one today on No. 8," said Larsson, who was a contestant in The Golf Channel's "Big Break Prince Edward Island" series. "I hit it to the right side and I knew it was going to come back. It got to not even a foot short on the left. It must have rolled right over the cup. I used an Alliance Bank golf ball today, so I think that helped!"
With her win, Suh moves up from 56th to 15th on the Duramed FUTURES Tour money list. Jean Reynolds of Newnan, Ga., remains in first place, with Misun Cho of Cheongju, South Korea, ranked second, and Mina Harigae of Monterey, Calif., in third. Wade moves from fifth to fourth, as Samantha Richdale of Kelowna, British Columbia, moves down one spot to fifth.
Lori Atsedes of Ithaca, N.Y., claimed a Duramed FUTURES Tour record, by surpassing Marilyn Lovander of Gainesville, Fla., to become the new career money leader.
Coming into the Alliance Bank Golf Classic, Atsedes only needed $83 to take over the record. Atsedes now leads Lovander by $469.
Next stop for the Duramed FUTURES Tour is the Falls Auto Group Classic in London, Kentucky, August 7-9.
