1-2-3 IN MUNROSS TROPHY
AT MONTROSE LINKS

Renfrewshire women’s county champion Megan Briggs, only 17, from Kilmacolm became one of the youngest winners of the Munross Trophy over the Montrose Links medal course today.
Megan, pictured right, had scores of 70 and 73 for a total of 143 against a combined CSS of 146 (73 both rounds) to win the SLGA Order of Merit event by two shots from another teenage county champion from the west, Pamela Pretswell (Bothwell Castle), the Renfrewshire women’s title-holder.
Pamela, three shots behind Megan after the first round, could make up only one of them with a second-round 72 for 146.
Michele Thomson (McDonald Ellon), recent semi-finalist in the Scottish women’s championship and winner of the North of Scotland women’s championship over the Montrose course last year, finished third on 146 with scores of 74 and 72. She completed a 1-2-3 by teenagers.
