KRYSTLE AND JODI FINISH BEHIND
US CURTIS CUP TEAM PLAYERS
AT UCF CHALLENGE IN FLORIDA

GB&I Curtis Cup team selections Krystle Caithness (Georgia University) and Jodi Ewart (New Mexico University) finished joint 41st and joint 47th respectively in a quality field of 96 players for the UCF Challenge women's college tournament at Red Tail Golf Club, Sorrento in Florida.
Krystle from Cellardyke, Fife scored consistently with rounds of 74, 73 and 75 for six-over-par 222 over the par-72, 6356yd course.
Krystle started her final round with a double bogey 6 but birdies at the 10th and 18th helped her to cover the remaining 17 holes in only one over par.
Jodi, pictured right, from Catterick, Yorkshire finished joint 47th after rounds of 73, 77 and 73. She had birdies at the first and 17th in her final round.
Rebecca Watson (Tennessee University) from South Queensferry and older sister of Sally Watson who will be playing for GB&I finished joint 91st with scores of 81, 81 and 80 for 242.
Four members of the United States team chosen for the end of May Curtis Cup clash over the Old Course, St Andrews were also in the field.
Amanda Blumenherst (Duke University), the top-ranked female college player in the States, finished joint third behind her uncapped Duke team-mate, Amanda Whitaker, on five-under-par 211 with scores of 69, 69 and 73.
Tiffany John (UCLA) came joint 10th with 70, 69 and 75 for two-under 214.
Stacy Lewis (Arkansas), the No 2 player on the US women's college circuit, came joint 23rd on 218 with scores of 70, 76 and 72. She will have been very disappointed with that performance, considering the pre-tournament talk was of a head-on clash with her great rival, Amanda Blumenherst, for top honours.
On the same mark was Curtis Cup team-mate Jennie Lee (Duke University) with 74 69 and 75.
Duke (851) won the team title from Purdue (860) and UCLA (863) with Florida (865) fourth, Southern California (868) fifth and Georgia joint sixth with Alabama on 872. New Mexico (902) came 17th of 18 teams.
