TOP 20 FINISH COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER
FOR VIKKI LAING IN VIRGINIA

Vikki Laing, who had started the tournament well with a 66, only one shot off the new course record set that day, eventually finished joint 17th on one-under-par 215 in the Greater Richmond Futures Classic at Richmond Country Club, Virginia.
The Musselburgh player had later rounds of 74 and 75 and earned $968 which at one stage looked like being a cheque for $4,000 or $5,000.
Winner was 17-year-old rookie Haeji Kang from Seoul, South Korea. After tieing with Sophia Sheridan from Guadalajara, Mexico on 11-under-par 215, Haeji won the sudden-death play-off at the first extra hole, where her opponent went out of bounds, and the first prize of $14,000. Sophia earned $10,000.
Haeji broke the Richmond CC course record with a 65, the same day that Vikki had her 66.
Pamela Feggans from Patna, Ayrshire did not survive the second-round cut.
This week Vikki and Pamela will be playing in the Duramed Futures Tour's Gettysburg Classic. Last year this tournament provided Vikki with her only win since she turned professional.
