Natasha's 13th place finish in California

Natasha Podmore, 21, from Appleton, Cheshire achieved a creditable joint 13th finish in a field of 69 players for the Fresno State Lexux Classic at Copper River Country Club, Fresno in California.
Natasha, a junior (third-year) student at San Francisco University, had steady rounds of 74, 76 and 75 for a total of 225 over the par-72, 6072yd course. She was joint 16th going into the final round and improved three places to claim a share of 13th place.
Natasha, who is 6ft 1in tall, was the youngest ever Cheshire county champion at the age of 16 in 2004 and retained the title the following year. She can also boast - but she wouldn't - of setting a ladies' course record of 66 at Royal Birkdale. She was born in August 1987 at Warrington.
Natasha's effort just failed to help San Francisco win the team title in a field of 13. San Francisco led the field with one round to go and totalled 892, but that was one more stroke than the winners, UC Irvine. Long Beach State (986) were third, UC Davis (899) fourth and San Diego State (902) fifth.
Mike Ueoka (Santa Clara University) won the individual honours with scores of 68, 69 and 72 for seven-under-par total of 209 - three shots ahead of runner-up Kay Hoey (Long Beach State) with 69, 72 and 71 for 212.
