What a shame for Grant Carnie!

Loss of form at championship

Ellon's Grant Carnie has been playing so well for Brevard College, North Carolina in this season's (2008-2009) US college circuit that it's a shame he lost his form when he needed it most - in the SAC Championship at Etowah Valley Country Club this week.
Carnie could do no better than rounds of 77, 80 and 77 for a total of 234 and joint 30th place in very windy conditions.
He finished 17 shots behind the winner, Chase Carroll (Tusculum) who scored 69, 71 and 77 for 217.
Brevard College (902) finished fifth in the team event won by Newberry College (883) ahead of Wingate University (895).
In the conference's women's championship at the same venue, Brevard College freshman, Lucy McNulty, a former pupil of Oban High School and a member of Dalmally Golf Club, finished a creditable joint 22nd in a field of 43 with scores of 88, 88 and 91 for a total of 257
Lucy did not enroll at Brevard College until January.
Sarah Jane Sinard (Carson Newman College) won by two strokes with three rounds of 75 for a total of 225.
Brevard College women's team, playing in the event for the first time, finished last of nine with a total of 1229. Carson Newman College won the title by 15 shots from Wingate University with a total of 968.
