French Women's Open hit by bad weather

OFF-FORM CLARE KNOWS HER FATE - SHE'S
GOING TO MISS THE CUT BY BIG MARGIN

A 4 1/2hr delay because of torrential rain wiped out the whole of the afternoon play in the French Women's Open and there is no way that all the competitors can complete their second rounds before Saturday.
But Clare Queen knows her fate already. The Carrick at Cameron House player is certain to miss the 36-hole cut after rounds of 78 and 76 for 154 - seven shots over the computer's projected figure.
Clare never got her teeth into this tournament. She improved only marginally on her poor form of the opening round with bogeys at the seventh, 10th, 12th, 16th and 17th and birdies only at the 15th and 18th in her second rounds.
Lynn Kenny (Archerfield) and Monifieth's Kathryn Imrie are safe enough on 143 and 144 respectively.
Lynn went off the boil slightly after marking up a 69 in the first round. She slipped down a peg or two to a two-over-par 74. She birdied the seventh and 13th but cancelled these out and more with bogeys at the sixth, eighth, 14th and 16th.
Kathryn has scored 73 and 71. She had birdies at the fifth, seventh, 12th and 17th, bogeys at the eighth, 11th and 14th for her one-under 71.
Former Stirling student Asa Gotmo (Sweden) is the leader in the clubhouse with completed rounds of 72 and 67 for five-under-par 139. France's Gwladys Nocera (first round of 7o) is five under par for the tournament after only six holes of her second round.
Lisa (Hackney that was) Hall has the second best two-round total in the clubhouse with scores of 72 and 68.
