Ellie Givens and Hannah Burke make
top eight of big US college tourney

Two English students - Ellie Givens (Denver University from Darlington and Hannah Burke (Baylor University, Texas) from Hertfordshire - finished in the top eight of this week's big US college women's tournament -the Ron Moore Intercollegiate at Highlands Ranch Golf Club, Colorado.
Ellie had scores of 78, 68 and 70 for a level par total of 216 over the par-72, 6,605yd course. That given her a joint sixth finish behind her winning team-mate, Stephanie Sherlock (67-71-68 for 10-under par 206) and, with three players in the top seven, Denver University won the team event by the staggering margin of 27 shots!
Hannah came eighth in the field of 73 with scores of 74, 74 and 69, her last round including four birdies in a row from the 10th.
